Nelson Ham is a professor of geology and environmental science who enjoys using field observations, lab work and remote sensing to study the origins of landforms and landscapes (geomorphology). He is especially interested in the glacial and post-glacial history of northeastern Wisconsin. His recent focus on how Wisconsin's geology influences the character and function of trout streams pairs with his research into how Euro-American settlers altered rivers and streams in northern Wisconsin through activities like logging.
