This course traces the political, social and cultural development of the U.S. from Reconstruction to the present. From Jim Crow segregation, to labor organizing during the Great Depression, to women鈥檚 rights movements, to the debates over immigration, this course pays particular attention to the role of race, class and gender in shaping society and politics.
