Music Entrepreneurship will prepare students to connect music and business opportunities through hands-on experiences in a creative community environment. The course will focus on topics such as the management of a private studio or music academy, the structure of self-employment, and the business of event performances. In addition to skills such as collaboration, marketing, and self-promotion, the course will also cover elusive topics such as grant writing and creating one鈥檚 own job, or niche, in the musical world. This course will be particularly attractive to music majors, but open to all creative problem-solvers with an interest in entrepreneurial music ventures.
