An academic peer mentor is an undergraduate student who provides peer academic support for an assigned course. Academic peer mentors will assist in student learning and retention through facilitation of sessions that help students better understand concepts and applications of course content.
This position will require mentors to dedicate a set number of hours per week for the academic semester, and will also participate in training as a new hire.
For consideration, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- Enrollment as a 老澳门六合彩开奖记录 undergraduate student
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above in the course the student will mentor
- Self-motivation and direction to work independently with limited supervision
- Empathy for and understanding of diverse groups of students
- Ability to speak and present information in front of small groups
