The cover of the Fall/Winter 2021 issue of ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Magazine celebrates the anniversary of the Norbertine order, founded 900 years ago on Christmas Day, 1121.

In Expectation of a Great Year on Campus/Your Magazine Online

The rituals of the new academic year sanctify an exciting new beginning at ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼, and your new issue of ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Magazine takes you right there. We have a photo gallery to share that captures , and where our 100+ student orgs tout their programming. Even our downloadable Big Picture picks up the theme.

Nostalgic for your student days? Why not take our Short Course in Media Effects, a compressed experience of the class taught by Valerie Kretz (Communication & Media). (And it’s worth reading more on research from Kretz and her students in our in-print and online feature, McDreamy is McDead.)

The student experience of today may differ in many ways from readers’ own, but there’s one thing that binds all friends of the college together, and that’s our unique heritage. There’s a wonderful tension that energizes our culture, and it’s at the place where the fresh faces of each new entering class encounter the deep-rooted heritage of the religious order that founded us. As we close in on the 900th anniversary of the Canons Regular of Prémontré – the Norbertines – we delight in bringing you our “Short Takes on a Long History.” This Jubilee celebration package encompasses a witch-hunt, a day-in-the-life-of feature and a host of Norbertine did-you-knows. The new issue of ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Magazine offers engaging multimedia windows on 900 years of Norbertine history and plenty of opportunities to find out more.

What’s it all for? Well, it’s for students like Scott Eastman ’96. A few credits short of his degree all these years, he embarked on a journey to the finish. At its culmination, we gave him a 2021 diploma and he gave us so much more than we had given to him in . His story, shared on Facebook, will warm your heart and, we hope like the rest of the new magazine on its way to your mailboxes, remind you of all that binds our extended community together forever.
